what does the elephant say?

If this doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will. Enjoy.

Ohhh, here's one more. Colden loves to sign along with all nursery favorites, Row Row Row Your Boat, The Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, etc. But Itsy Bitsy has always been his fave.

mother's day 2014

It's funny. Despite this being my third Mother's Day, I still don't feel like the day is meant for me. I always think of it as being for my mom. That's destined to change with time, I hope. This year we spent the day celebrating out by the lake with our local Grandma and Grandpa. In a word, it was very relaxing. If only I took more pics. I managed just a couple.

Grandma Kathy spoiled Colden with a new slide and wagon. Just for the lake house.

I'm so thankful I get to be this little boy's mama. Lucky me!

Happy Mother's Day!

Easter weekend

It seems every major holiday Colden is sick. Like really sick. These serious illnesses always seem to fall on three-day weekends when our go-to pediatrician is conveniently out of the office. Easter weekend proved the introduction of our little barking seal...yes, the croup had flown in. Poor thing was miserable. Thankfully the pediatrician on call sent us over a steroid and we immediately took action. Even though he felt better quickly, his level of contagion meant we were missing out on all family functions that day. So, we spent the day at home. Matt made a dash to the market and picked up a ham and despite being quarantined, we ended up having a really lovely Easter as a family. Here are a few highlights.

The many faces of Colden over the weekend. Emotions were high and low.

Plum tuckered! He's never fallen fully asleep in his highchair like this before...

Nap time. I will never get tired of the sleep face photo. Love.

Waking up from his nap. Caught red-handed trying to push over the humidifier... a new game we play.

Happy and ready to play dress-up in the Easter outfit Grammy sent.

Look out! There's a new sailor in town.

Out for an evening stroll.

Happy Easter!
