calendars and books

My sweet friend Genevieve gave Colden an Advent calendar (from her trip to Trader Joe's in Rochester no less). After our walk, I let him open the day's treat as we continue to count down and celebrate the 24 days before Christmas.

I have to say, he's quite mezmorized with it.

Perhaps it's the smell of the chocolate inside? Or rather it's all those flaps sticking out- which reminds him of a book?

Mommy? This' not a book?

Welp, secret's out. Colden loves books. Grandma Kathy just gave him the sweetest one, titled: Colden's Very Merry First Christmas. This personalized gem is absolutely awesome.

The pages are cardboard, and it's just the right size. Not to mention the story's a classic, written in what else, but iambic pentameter- offering a cadence that's sure to please every time. On top of all that, it's chock full of colorful Christmas patterns and images.

Colden's house even gets a nod.

The best part is, Colden just loves it.

Thank you Grandma Kathy for this Colden's house keepsake. Merry First Christmas Colden!
