sittin' pretty

Countless hours of tummy time: check
Rolling across the room: check
Sitting up (with the help of a little pair of hands): check

As Colden continues to make his way through the developmental checklist, there has been a mind-blowing influx of sitting apparati in our house. And we don't discriminate- they come in all shapes and sizes, from super soft textures to rubbery foam, from foreign to domestic, and from sweet to battery powered.

First, there was the jumperoo- aka, the third parent. A product turned nanny, this clever (and room-filling) apparatus is made by the folks down the road at Fisher Price. Did I ever mention FP is headquartered here, and that we live about a mile away? Or that our neighbor works there as an infant toy designer and has brought over the coolest free swag? YES. Colden loves all of their flashy music making products. Double snarky points if it's plastic and made in China, too.

He's a little small for it, but nothing a boppy pillow can't fix.

Sometimes all the action tires him out, though...it must be that snuggly hugga-bebe.

In all fairness, before the jumperoo, there was the bumbo. This little floor seat works great when staging a fun photo op.

Plus, there's a handy attachable play tray.

Fast forward to Grammy and Papa's most recent visit, and Colden's favorite Raffi Chair makes it's early Christmas debut. Just HOO loves you, little Colden?

My parents found this linen gem at a boutique children's store in Boulder, Colorado- and actually checked it as baggage on their flight out here! My nephew Andrew has a similar chair at their house, but sorry Drew- this one's way cooler.
I absolutely love it.

And I think it's obvious- Colden does too.

It's even training the future DJ LASH.

Look at those moves!

I envision many many years and oodles of delight in this super special Colorado chair.

Upon gaining his fourteenth pound, Colden was cleared for solids. Of course this meant a frenzy of product research to find the perfect high chair. Enter the Oxo Tot Sprout.

I chose this chair for several reasons. One, was the head support. As an infant, Colden can lean his head back and the chair comes up high enough to rest on. Two, it converts into a toddler and youth chair- great for longevity, and a bonus for more children. Not to mention, it's cute to look at. And three, it's sturdy and safe, as you can never be too careful when handling your sweet babe. Originally my heart was set on the Stokke Tripp Trapp- but after I viewed one too many YouTube videos of it tipping over, my Scandinavian dream vanished at the thought of a trip to the ER. The Boon Flair came in a close second, but was a bit Jetson's-esque for the style of Colden's House. We're happy with the our Sprout and aren't looking back. Here we come, avocado!

One last chair has recently entered the mix. I've been sick with a wretched cold this past week and on Saturday morning, Daddy day care took over to let me sleep in a bit. When I woke, I discovered the sweetest monogrammed gift from Colden's buddy out west.

Colden's tested a lot of chairs recently, but I think this one is just right. Thank you, Austin!

Happy sitting from the sweetest little product tester around.
