a walk in the park

This past Saturday was the first sunny and semi-warm day we've had in a very long stretch of repeat cold and grey. When I say semi-warm I mean a brisk 45 degrees, maybe 50 tops. The three of us took full advantage of the our sunshiney heat-wave and were out of the house on a walk by 9 am. We popped in for coffee and a breakfast of fresh local treats at our village's hottest watering hole, Elm Street Bakery. The croissant I ordered was flaky buttered perfection on the outside, with the chocolate still warm and gooey on the inside; and Matt's farm fresh egg and bacon sandwich still has me drooling. Colden dined on several bites of prunes, and even a lick or two of my perfectly portioned French croissant. I suppose one can dream they live in Paris, right? What a lovely little start to our Saturday.

With our bellies full, and our energy recharged, we headed for the park. Now Colden's been to the park before- but this time was different. This time he was finally big enough to fit into one of those cute little baby swings. A new first.

The jury's still out whether he liked it or not....I wouldn't let this cute face fool you. Those big blue eyes are screaming 'mommy please take me out of here!'. Baby slide here we come.

Spring, we're ready when you are!
